[2013年動物行為暨生態學研討會] 描述兩種螳蛉之形態及行為觀察

[發現]
  1. 根據我的觀察,臺灣多數小型螳蛉 (如Necyla sp.) 幼蟲可能為卵囊穿刺者 (the egg-sac penetrators) ;另一方面,臺灣螳蛉 (Eumantispa taiwanensis) 幼蟲則可能是蜘蛛載運者 (the spider-boarders)。
  2. 卵囊穿刺者:幼蟲平面游移狀,會鑽入蜘蛛卵囊取食卵粒或幼蛛,幼蟲成熟後於蜘蛛卵囊內化蛹。
  3. 蜘蛛載運者:幼蟲不時拱起身軀立體旋轉,俟蜘蛛經過攀附,可能吸取蜘蛛血淋巴維生。這類螳蛉幼蟲成熟後,須進入蜘蛛卵囊,於蜘蛛卵囊內化蛹。

[自然保育季刊] 2013年成功繁殖一種不做陷阱的特有種蟻獅-巨彎爪蟻蛉


[發現]

  1. 巨彎爪蟻蛉(Paraglenurus riparius)係臺灣特有物種,幼蟲不製作漏斗狀沙阱捕食獵物,而是埋藏於沙中,露出大顎及眼,等待獵物經過時埋伏捕食之。
  2. 不做陷阱的蟻蛉幼蟲在野外不易被發現,國內外亦鮮少有人記錄到完整之生活史。本種飼養難度高,能順利從卵飼養至成蟲羽化係屬難得,與大眾分享之。
  3. 「自然保育季刊(Nature Conservation Quarterly)」第83期封面故事。
